Backgrounder . . .
The Hawaiian KOA
tree is often described as providing the most beautiful
wood in the world. These trees are native to the Northern side of Mauna Kea
found only at higher elevations. The color and figure is exceptional and
the wood is known for it's light-to-dark brown banding and a high degree of
the natural sheen. The KOA tree is a fast growing, vigorous tree that
responds well to changes in the landscape. That is why we named ourselves after that tree.
